Tony Gray (Director) completed his DPhil at Wolfson College Oxford in Philosophical Theology before entering the publishing industry. Tony has worked on over a hundred private biographies (clients have included a polar explorer, a chimney sweep, peers of the realm, WWII POWs, CEOs of multi-nationals, hoteliers, teachers, missionaries, pilots and builders); researched and written a number of significant family histories (including histories of the Schwarzschild, Hajduska, Howarth and Quarmby families); and acted as a consultant for other publishing companies (helping set up and establish private presses and small independent publishers).

I’m Clare Button, a professional proofreader and Intermediate Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading. I specialise in non-fiction, especially life stories/memoirs and academic writing on history, theology and sociology. I hold a first-class English degree from the University of Cambridge and I am also an experienced writer for both popular and academic audiences. So I understand the importance of good writing and love helping writers make their work the best it can be!
I’m Helen Ogilvie, an experienced native English-speaking proofreader and proof-editor. I trained with the Publishing Training Centre and am a Professional Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading. I have a degree in Biology, and before qualifying as a proofreader enjoyed a long career as a London-based clinical scientist where accuracy, attention to detail, and working to deadline were paramount. These attributes are essential tools for proofreading, and I take great pride in helping clients produce a polished piece of literature. Most of my work is non-fiction, including memoirs and autobiographies, annual reports and company magazines, web content, scientific papers, and PhD theses.
