Mark Wood is an established explorer who operates within the cold extremes of the planet. He has seen the curvature of the earth’s surface above the clouds on Mount Everest; he has been stalked by a polar bear through storms and freezing temperatures as he crossed the floating sea ice towards the North Pole; and Mark has spent 50 days completely alone as he walked to the South Pole.
100% of the proceeds from How To Be A Polar Explorer will go to Sherbourne Fields Special School to help future adventures.
When Mark is alone on expedition and it’s so tough that he feels that giving in is the only option, he thinks of this truly inspiring school in the centre of England, where every teacher and student constantly faces the temptation to give in, yet they have the courage and strength to continue.
